How do I know if I need an interior designer?
You’re overwhelmed by the thought of picking the right paint colors (did you know there are 100s of shades of white?!)
You’re considering new construction, an addition, renovation, remodel or just a refresh and you need an interior designer to complement your architect and focus on the daily functionality and details of all the interiors.
You’re too busy with your own life and work to take on a project of this size and scale.
Your space lacks style or doesn’t suit your lifestyle.
You know the interior style you want and like, but you don’t know how to make it happen.
You want help incorporating new furnishings with existing ones.
You want to minimize expensive mistakes and the cost of fixing them.
Your home was great 10 or 20 years ago, but it just doesn’t have the right flow or feeling that your family needs today.
You’ve tried to design your own home and realized that you don’t know where to find the right pieces or how to form a cohesive design style.
If you answered “YES” to any of the above, an interior designer is right for you!
How much will an interior designer cost? Design Services range in investment depending on the type of project and the scope of work. All my design fees are flat rate fees so you’ll know ahead of time exactly what it will cost to have an interior designer transform your space. One thing you can be sure of is that I’ll be transparent in my pricing model and fee schedule; an honest partnership is the most important aspect of your project!
I don’t really want to do any major renovations. Can my home really feel like new without that much work? Yes, totally! You’d be surprised what a coat of paint, new lighting and some fresh furnishings can do to a space! Even changing the layout of a room can make it feel like it’s been totally transformed, and I’m so excited for you to experience this!
How long will the process take? Well, that really depends on the scope of work. One room will obviously take less time than a five, but it also depends on how much updating we’re doing. Plan on the creative process taking 5-10 weeks for a complete design plan to come together, while the Procurement & Installation phases usually take a minimum of 3 months to complete.
If we decide to include minor renovations who will complete that work? If you have a contractor that you’ve worked with in the past I’ll be happy to partner with them to oversee the work to ensure our vision is brought to life. If you don’t have a contractor already I will be happy to provide you with a list of contractors you can contact and hire to complete the work.
How is this different than a Full Service Design project? Full Service Design means I will create a turn-key design experience for your project, from initial concept through to the final installation. Furnishings & Décor projects don’t include major construction such as moving, adding or removing walls, changing any structural or architectural elements such as windows and we won’t modify floor plans. However, we may consider adding ambient or decorative lighting, tile accents, new paint and even mouldings. After that we’ll work on updating everything within the walls and ceiling.
